An excellent defense of the outgoing President ...
American Thinker: G. W. Bush, a President Worthy of the Office: "With all due respect, I would rather you had saved the Country than the Republican Party, and that's just what you've done.
I believe that's called proper prioritizing.
It's what presidents are supposed to do. Always. Every single time.
Yes, the Republican-Party brand appears tarnished beyond repair, our candidates far and wide are suffering defeat, and hardly a voice in defense of you can be heard anywhere. But, surely G. W., you realize that these difficult realities say far more about the non-cognizant state of our citizenry than they say about you."
I share many of her sentiments. It is worth reading the whole article.

Global Warming
Cold temps prove global warming, i know it doesn't seem to make sense but its true?
First we (the government) needs to to control the climate.....then we control minds, or is it the other way around. The incoming administration is still beating the global warming drum despite the actual weather.

Horowitz gives a "10" to Coulter's new book
Coulter's New Book: Weapon of Mass Destruction
Ann Coulter's new book is one that everyone concerned with the left's assault on reason should get ahold of and read. Coulter is often compared to Senate-seat-thief Al Franken, but there is really no comparison and not only because Coulter is funny and also witty. If you read a Franken book, what you learn is that conservatives are liars -- in other words what you learn is a lie. Reading Coulter's new offering Guilty: Liberal Victims And Their Assault on America you will get a serious look into the strategy of the left which has been consistent since Rousseau and Marx and is summed by Coulter in this pithy phrase: "Speak loudly and carry a small victim."
Coulter's book could just as easily be called "Hypocrisy" since she shows relentlessly and unmercifully how embarrassing it is intellectually and morally to be a liberal these days. Every page is filled with the pleasures of seeing the self-righteous skewered and the guilty held to account for their unreported crimes. To those on the left like the NY Times Frank Rich who complained about "McCarthyesque guilt-by-association" when Obama's friendship and political collaboration with Billy Ayers was brought up, she replies: "No one accused Obama of guilt by association, but rather guilt of association with a bomb-planting, America-hating, flag denigrating imbecile. She then lists the personal heroes to whom Ayers dedicated his 2001 book, whose publication coincided with the 9/11 attacks. These included 7 convicted cop killers, 1 attempted cop killer, 3 accomplices and a bomb-maker for the Puerto Rican terrorists. Thus amidst the laughter this book will also generate tears for our country and our future. Which is why this book is so important. Buy it now, and arm yourself for the battle.

'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years - WSJ.com
'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years - WSJ.com: "Many of us who know Rand's work have noticed that with each passing week, and with each successive bailout plan and economic-stimulus scheme out of Washington, our current politicians are committing the very acts of economic lunacy that 'Atlas Shrugged' parodied in 1957, when this 1,000-page novel was first published and became an instant hit."

Debunking the Media Myths of the Housing Bubble
Karl Rove: President Bush Tried to Rein In Fan and Fred - WSJ.com: "Mythmaking is in full swing as the Bush administration prepares to leave town. Among the more prominent is the assertion that the housing meltdown resulted from unbridled capitalism under a president opposed to all regulation. Like most myths, this is entertaining but fictional. In reality, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were among the principal culprits of the housing crisis, and Mr. Bush wanted to rein them in before things got out of hand. Rather than a failure of capitalism, the housing meltdown shows what's likely to happen when government grants special privileges to favored private entities that facilitate bad actors and lousy practices."
A nice summary and defense of president Bush. For a more detailed outline of the housing mess, read "Why the Mortgage Crisis Happened" in The American Thinker.

Dear Friend,
This morning I am filing papers to begin the process to become a candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey.
I did not take this step lightly. It was only after careful consideration and consultation with my family that I decided to become a candidate.
New Jersey is broken. New Jersey’s taxes have become so unaffordable that more families are leaving our state than moving here. Our state's business tax climate is ranked 50th in the nation and has become so unattractive to employers that only government jobs are growing in New Jersey. Yet nothing in Trenton gets done to fix these problems.
We can change this. We can solve these problems if we're willing to make the tough decisions.
In my seven years as your United States Attorney, I didn't shy away from any of the tough decisions. I took on corporate greed, political corruption, terrorism and environmental polluters. Public officials from both parties were prosecuted for corruption – more than 130 were convicted, and not one was acquitted. Corporate executives who cheated their companies and hurt their workers were successfully prosecuted. Terrorist plots were disrupted; polluters punished.
Many didn’t believe we could win these battles. We did, and with strong leadership we will win the fight for Governor and change this state for the better.
My formal announcement for Governor will come in the first week in February and I hope you will join us (I will email you the details). With strong leadership now, we can fix our broken state and make it more affordable for all New Jersey families.
Sincerely,
Chris Christie

Iran
Iran shuts down it's human rights organization. Surprise surprise...Is there really a need for human rights watch in Iran anyway? Besides this evil human rights group may have had some political opinions.
The Iranians seem reasonable, we should negotiate. President Obama will take care of it.

Obama’s Undemocratic Plan for Central Planning on Carbon » The Foundry
Obama’s Undemocratic Plan for Central Planning on Carbon » The Foundry: "It is looking more and more likely that President Obama will not try to pass any new cap and trade legislation through Congress. This is not the good news it appears to be. Instead, Obama will try and marshal legal authority from existing statutes, primarily the Clean Air Act, to force the reorganization of the entire U.S. economy (all businesses use energy) without any meaningful input from the American people."
Interview with VP of International Christian Union in FPM
The Cross and the Crescent: "It is impossible for Islam to become moderate as long as Muslims believe in the Quran. This holy book promotes terrorism, war, martyrs, murder, torture, thievery, slavery, and intolerance. There is no freedom of choice in Islam, and Muslims are ordered to kill infidels."

Bail Out
I own a Ford...
If most Americans choose to buy foreign cars...because they are free to do so, why would the BIG 3 get our money anyway??? Why or How could this happen? I don't like your product but regardless, you will get my money. In return, what do we get...not cars, we obviously don't want their cars. Hyundai is doing fine, Toyota, Audi ect...this is a Joke! Hyundai provides and creates plenty American jobs. Shouldn't they have a right to profit?

Fairness Doctrine
The government attempts to own the airways....
Look at it this way....
Conservative talk radio succeeds...liberal talk radio fails....Americans make that decision when they turn on the radio.
Talk radio is forced to hire liberals, so, radio stations broke and bankrupt because noone listens. The government steps in and bails them out...There you have it Government controlled media...good bye freedom!

Follow Up: The Cold War Continues...
Tucked away in a back corner of the star-ledger was an interesting article. Russia and Venezuela end Naval Exercises... So, let us get this straight, Russian warships were in Venezuela conducting naval practice, Is this not alarming? At the conclusion of the exercise was a celebration...Chavez has, "praised Russia for raising its profile in the Americas (because) the U.S. Navy...poses a threat."
Is it really true that given such circumstances Barack Obama would want to "cut our nuclear arsenal?" Surely the Soviets...oops, surely the Russians will be cutting theirs, right? How long will it be before a powerful communist presence exists in the Americas?

Help Me Understand
I spoke to a very smart republican friend this weekend...he lives across the country in a very liberal city/state and didn't vote. He did however inform me that he would have voted for Barack Obama because he feels we need change. I asked him exactly what he waned changed being that he has had a very good job and just left it for an even better job in sales...yes, he has moved into a higher tax bracket. He stuttered a little..."well, we've been war mongering." Sensing his weakness I attacked and he just claimed the guy is "intelligent and talented so I just though he was the better choice."
Hitler was intelligent and talented...what is going on here. Seeing Obama's recent appointments does give me some comfort though because it is obvious nothing will change at least for a few years...it's the same old same old. Sadly the country has grown complacent which will not turn out very favorable for our children...our children's children ans so on.
COMMUNISM?
Recognizing some of the communist undertones throughout the world one must ask, did we really win the cold war? Is the cold war over? Has it taken on a new face? Che Guevara is on t-shirts...he is idolized...
