Cap and Trade: It's an Energy Tax

This promise, portraying himself as some sort of fiscally conservative centrist for "the little guy", probably got him about 10 percent of the 53% of the vote he garnered.

America's first Muslim president?

GAFFNEY: America's first Muslim president? - Washington Times: "With Mr. Obama's unbelievably ballyhooed address in Cairo Thursday to what he calls 'the Muslim world' (hereafter known as 'the Speech'), there is mounting evidence that the president not only identifies with Muslims, but actually may still be one himself. Consider the following indicators:"

• Mr. Obama referred four times in his speech to "the Holy Koran." Non-Muslims -- even pandering ones -- generally don't use that Islamic formulation.

• Mr. Obama established his firsthand knowledge of Islam (albeit without mentioning his reported upbringing in the faith) with the statement, "I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed." Again, "revealed" is a depiction Muslims use to reflect their conviction that the Koran is the word of God, as dictated to Muhammad.

• Then the president made a statement no believing Christian -- certainly not one versed, as he professes to be, in the ways of Islam -- would ever make. In the context of what he euphemistically called the "situation between Israelis, Palestinians and Arabs," Mr. Obama said he looked forward to the day ". . . when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) joined in prayer."

Now, the term "peace be upon them" is invoked by Muslims as a way of blessing deceased holy men. According to Islam, that is what all three were - dead prophets. Of course, for Christians, Jesus is the living and immortal Son of God.

Some Israelis Insulted By Obama Picture | World Watch - CBS News: "Israel's Channel One TV reported that Netanyahu was told Tuesday by an 'American official' in Jerusalem that, 'We are going to change the world. Please, don't interfere.' The report said Netanyahu's aides interpreted this as a 'threat.'"

Venezuela Chavez says Comrade Obama more left-wing | Reuters

Reuters: "'Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right,' Chavez joked on a live television broadcast."

Let's see. We can't call The Anointed One a Leftist/Marxist/Socialist, but you can add Venezuela to the growing lists of nations that clearly see the path this once great beacon of freedom is heading ... (i.e., China, Russia, etc. ...)

ACORN's Roots ...

1. Recall, as Sarah Palin reminded us in 2008, that we have a "Community Organizer"-in-Chief. (Obama is basically a product of ACORN, and it makes the bulk of his resume.)

2. Then bear in mind, as this Glenn Beck clip points out, that the radical leftist "welfare-rights" groups of the 1960s subversive goal was not to help the needy but to destabilize the United States "to manufacture a crisis of the capitalis[t] system."

3. And finally, just observe the build up of events in recent years, culiminating in the dizzying pace of Hope & Change in the last five months ...

You have to admit, you are starting to think about reading up on those survivalist websites ...

It's all over for the GOP ... Or, is it???

FrontPage Magazine - Lonegan’s Charge: "It doesn’t help that the Garden State has been hostile territory for Republicans in recent years. The last time a Republican candidate won a statewide office in New Jersey was 1997, when Governor Christine Todd Whitman won reelection. Voter rolls offer little encouragement. While 60 percent of the state’s 4.8 million registered voters are independents, they tend to vote Democratic, and Democrats still outnumber Republicans by 1.72 million to 1.04 million.

Bleaker still are the prospects for self-styled conservatives. When the GOP fielded Jersey City mayor Bret Schundler, the tax- and toll-cutting foe of abortion and gun-control, in the 2001 race, Democrats won handily. So it’s not surprising that despite some favorable signs—polls show that more than half of New Jersey voters oppose Corzine’s reelection—Republicans still see this year’s race as an uphill struggle. “If we can win here we can win anywhere,” one veteran Republican strategist says."

American capitalism gone with a whimper - Pravda.Ru: "It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people."
